John is passionate about road safety and improving the driving competency of all road users. When John isn’t working he can be found getting in some exercise, spending time with his grand kids and taking in the odd rugby game.

Shona assisted John with the founding of the business in 2005. Shona has had 20 years in the accounting world and now has her sole focus with McInnes Driver Training. Shona can been found behind the scenes crunching all the numbers. When Shona isn’t working she enjoys getting in some exercise, pottering in her gardens and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren.

Jo brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the business and has a wide ranging training and mentoring role within the company as a trainer and assessor. When Jo isn’t working she can be found supporting her girls in their sport activities and enjoying family camping trips.

Colin is McInnes Driver Training’s office manager, overseeing the day to day operational side of the business and providing an important link between our customers and trainers. Colin brings has a wealth of knowledge in the banking, finance and administration industries. When Colin isn’t working you can find him spending time with his wife and family or working on his golfing handicap.
Blair Gilroy
Heavy Truck Driver Trainer
Blair is McInnes Driver Training’s heavy truck driver trainer. Blair has experience in the transportation and mining industries. Blair’s practical experience in both industries provides a strong foundation of knowledge for our learners to learn from. When Blair isn’t working you can find him spending time with his family, at the rugby club or in the outdoors and maybe even participating in an adventure race.
Gershwen Mouton
Driver Trainer
Gershwen is McInnes Driver Training’s car and light truck driver trainer. Originating from Cape Town, South Africa Gershwen feels like he’s found true job love working at McInnes Driver Training in a people centric learning and education environment. When Gershwen isn’t working you can find him hitting the pavement or at the gym or spending time with his wife and kids.

Driver Trainer
Danja is McInnes Driver Training’s car driver trainer. Danja is passionate about supporting each person through their different licence requirements by providing real life knowledge and on road experiences. When Danja isn’t working you can find her enjoying Gisborne’s beautiful outdoors or spending time with her friends and family.
Nigel Henare
Driver Trainer
Nigel is McInnes Driver Training’s car driver trainer. Nigel loves working with so many different people from all walk’s of life and finds nothing more satisfying then helping each individual fulfil their goal of becoming a fully licenced driver. When Nigel isn’t working he can be found spending time with his wife, daughters and mokos or making the most of the East Coasts awesome outdoors.
Tama Koia
Forestry Trainer
Tama is McInnes Driver Training’s forestry and farming trainer. Tama is a qualified assessor in these industries and brings over 50 years of knowledge and experience to pass on to our trainees. When Tama isn’t working he can be found biking Gisborne’s streets and trails and enjoying the people he meets.
Roger Wallace
Maintenance Operator
Roger is McInnes Driver Training’s maintenance guru, keeping our fleet and premises clean, tidy and in a fully maintained position. Roger has over 60 years of experience in the transport industry and provides a lifetime of knowledge and expertise. When Roger isn’t working he can be found pounding the walkways around Gisborne or enjoying a catch up over a cuppa with his friends and family.
Helen Maclean
Administration Support
Helen is McInnes Driver Training’s administration wizz. Helen is Colin’s right hand person and is responsible for producing all certificates and keeping the wheel of motion ticking over. When Helen isn’t working she is can be found playing football with her friends or getting in a bit of retail therapy.
Maia Donovan-Monteith
Administration Support
Maia is McInnes Driver Training’s administration team support person and learner licence trainer. Maia enjoys tutoring learners to help them gain their learner licence. Maia has a strong background in both business communications and customer service industries. When Maia isn’t working she’s out and about enjoying her friends and family.
